About the Team

With our state of the art facility now in full operation, we are looking to appoint a Project Quality Engineer to complement our existing team. This is a rare opportunity to join a collaborative team of professionals during an exciting ramp up phase.


About the role

The Project Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the implementation of the projects assigned, to comply with the contractual, customer-specific, project-relevant and company-internal quality requirements for the products and the processes used. The successful applicant adapts and develops methods and tools of quality, derives essential test points and criteria and ensures that the defined measures are carried out.


In doing so, they act in the integrated Plan-Do-Check-Act approach, with which they ensure that any non-conformities that are noticed are rectified and a recurrence is prevented. Providing expert level, professional capability and support in quality management to the business on complex and critical quality issues to meet operational requirements and ensure compliance with applicable standards, regulations and other requirements.


As Project Quality Engineer you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:

  • Provide high level quality management support services to enable effective decision making and delivery of sound quality project outcomes;Guide project staff in the effective use of quality management systems and tools;
  • Prepare project quality reports (around quality performance, kpi’s, risks and quality compliance) and attend relevant project meetings provide support and direction in assisting the project to meet and exceed project quality requirements;
  • Evaluation of customer requirements and definition / deduction of project quality requirements in order to fulfil customer requirements;
  • Develop and maintain product specific quality plans, Inspection and Control Plans, Test & Inspection Plans, etc., as relevant and required;
  • Track the inspection, surveillance and records collation activities on individual vehicles and facilitate progressive assurance reviews with relevant stakeholders, including CoA representatives;
  • Planning, coordination and conduction of acceptance tests (FAT/SAT);
  • Conducting inspection and auditing to assure that an acceptable level of build quality is maintained/ achieved for the vehicles, including verifying and collating the content of the Vehicle Log Book and other such methods used to manage and demonstrate manufacturing quality;and
  • Analyse quality, operational data, inspection reports and other performance data to identify quality improvement needs and systemic concerns.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes: 

  • Tertiary qualifications (Degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science);
  • Recognised formal training in Quality (CQE, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, degree, etc.);
  • Demonstrated experience as a Quality Engineer or QA Manager on multidisciplinary (hardware, software and mechanical) engineering project(s);
  • Advanced interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate;
  • Understanding of IPC-A-610 & IPC/WHMA-A-620 requirements to inspect electronic assemblies and cable harness;
  • Trained in using advanced quality tools and techniques;
  • Comprehensive understanding of ISO 9000;
  • Good developed stakeholder management skills and experience working with senior management, technical experts, etc. where customised solutions and a consultancy based approach are key;
  • Good IT knowledge, particularly of SAP QM;
  • Must currently hold or be eligible to gain the appropriate Australian Security Clearance;
  • Ability to travel interstate and internationally when required.
