JOB DESCRIPTION

The most iconic Hotel of Brisbane CBD is seeking an Apprentice Chef 2nd Year

Working under the guidance and supervision of the Executive Chef and the Sous Chef, you will assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of meals. You will actively participate in team operations to learn skills, duties and procedures required to gain competency as a qualified cook.

Some duties:
  • Under supervision, operate standard cooking equipment such as mixers, steamers, toasters, choppers, fryers, ovens and stoves.
  • Secure food supplies from storerooms/refrigerators
  • Participate in kitchen cleaning work, such as washing and cleaning equipment
  • Prepare appetizers, salads, stocks, sauces and soups
  • Prepare vegetables, fruit, eggs and flour/starch dishes
  • Select, prepare and cook poultry, seafood and meat
  • Prepare hot and cold desserts, pastries, cakes and yeast goods
  • Plan and prepare food for buffets
  • Serve food as required

You will be required to undertake a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.
