JOB DESCRIPTION

In This Role You Will

Manage the planning and resourcing of the branch’s training requirements to ensure that all Correctional Officers maintain their qualifications as prescribed by the Agency. Coordinate operational training to meet their branch’s needs and forecast training requirements and resources to deliver on branch based training needs most importantly the STC is accountable for ensuring correctional officers maintain current competency in their vocational certificate and all mandatory training requirements. Conduct training needs analysis for branch staff across a range of functions and activities and develop training plans. Manage the branch’s training assessment function; this includes providing support to learners undertaking assessments, providing moderation for trained branch assessors and confirmation of assessments prior to progressing to QCS Academy.

The Essential Requirements For This Role Are

  • Comprehensive knowledge of and demonstrated experience in the design and delivery of training programs including the ability to assess training needs based on sound analysis of competency gaps.
  • Strong interpersonal skills particularly communication both written and verbal to a range of audiences in the context of delivering learning transfer within a training environment.
  • Experience in the assessment of competency within an Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and an understanding of the AQF standards and requirements.
  • Strong ability to undertake training evaluation to determine its effectiveness in supporting the development of staff competence and skills including planning and resourcing an overall training plan to meet operational training needs.
  • Very strong organisational skills that will ensure training needs are met within desired timeframes and ensure compliance with RTO standards.
  • Ability to liaise and negotiate with centre management on the delivery of training needs within the centre's overall staff resourcing/roster.


Qualifications, Professional Registration, Conditions And Other Requirements

Applicants must possess an industry based vocational qualification (Certificate III/IV in Corrections) or have broad industry experience and knowledge that may assist in Recognition of Prior Learning to achieve the industry qualification.

In addition all applicants must possess TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
