Job Title: Technical Sales Specialist, Animal Health, Australia and New Zealand (12 months)

Reports to: Director, Commercial Leader APJ, AgriBusiness, Genetic Sciences

Location: Australia, New Zealand

Initial 12 months contract

This role as an Animal health technical sales specialist provides you with the opportunity to be recognized as a technical leader driving the business development to penetrate and grow current and new business. This will be achieved by leveraging your knowledge of the market, product and customer needs accompanied with selling and business building skills to successfully promote and drive sales of Animal Health products and services to achieve or exceed the assigned territory sales plan.

How Will You Make an Impact?

  • Sell and promote a select band of products to identified customer segments in the defined territory of Australia and New Zealand
  • Managing existing accounts and prospecting for new business that will contribute to sales growth
  • Meeting and striving to exceed sales targets
  • Providing information to and from the territory, including providing written reports as requested,
  • Take initial leads from reagent and systems teams and qualify further.
  • Promoting the Employer’s image and product reputation.

What will you do?

Focus: Servicing and Managing the Customer Base
  • Produce Forward Call Cycle/Plan
  • Make regular customer calls either with or without the local Sales teams
  • Identify new business opportunities and develop sales potential
  • Respond to enquiries and complaints that will reinforce the company’s position

Focus: Sales Promotion
  • Follow the directive selling programme to maximize the sales of the targeted products
  • Attend Trade Exhibitions as required to generate leads and prospects for the company’s products
  • Conduct customer specific promotions to encourage sales growth and the development of a positive company position.
  • Develop and execute technology seminars applicable to the account research focus.

Focus: Product / Market Knowledge
  • Constantly develop product knowledge through company literature and other independent sources of technical information
  • Obtain and report information of market trends, competitive promotions and other activities from the market that may aid the sales and marketing activity
  • Actively take part in internal product training and the external scientific community
activities

Focus: Budgets / Targets
  • Essential to meet Revenue and Gross Profit sales targets as set each year for the defined territory and contribute to the achievement of the National goals.
  • Meet sales targets as set for specific promotional activities

Focus: Administration and Reports
  • Maintain accurate and detailed customer records on the company CRM.
  • Provide weekly sale reports to be made to the Manager for previous week.
  • All other requested reports by due dates.

Focus: Key Account Management
  • Identify Key Accounts in defined territory that will contribute significantly to the sales growth in the territory.
  • Work closely with the Sales Manager and Marketing to develop strategies that will develop the sales potential of the Key Accounts.
  • Provide reports to the entire sales team on the development of the Key Accounts.


How will you get here?

Education:
  • Educated at BSc. level or above.
  • PhD preferred. (Biotech, Vet Science)

Experience:
  • At least two years sales experience preferred.
  • Successful track record of achieving results through strategic selling and market development in collaboration with others.
  • Excellent analytical, communications—both oral and written
  • Project management skills.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Strong understanding of the animal diagnostic market with experience in molecular technologies.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Presentation skills that can be utilized internally and in the marketplace.
