About the Company

A Full Time opportunity has become available in this evolving national building supplies business. Based in Banyo, their Queensland team has a highly engaged culture underpinned by a strong vision and success.

They have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, pro-active, commercially astute and ER-focused Human Resources Business Partner to join their business.

The role of the HR Business Partner is to support the delivery of the people agenda across their respective client groups. A strong employee relations background is essential as they have a high volume retail department with a focus on consistent performance and high employee engagement.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic HR business partnering by implementing solutions to business strategy
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to line managers in all Employee Relations matters (such as grievance, disciplinary)
  • Support the delivery of the annual HR functional milestones including performance management process, employee reward process for salaried and non-salaried employees, employee engagement survey, budget and workforce planning cycle, code of conduct, talent and succession planning
  • Champion employee engagement and assist with the deployment of relevant programs and initiatives that build effective leadership capability
  • Manage all employee life cycle activities including employee internal movements, separations and changes to employment terms and conditions as well as the maintenance of employee personnel files
  • Proactively work with client groups to ensure all employees are compliant with code of conduct training and any other mandatory developmental training
  • Take ownership and lead on key HR projects on an adhoc basis

Desirable/Preferred Skills

  • Tertiary level or equivalent experience in Human Resources
  • Sound understanding of employment practices and regulations
  • Commerically astute and ablity to comprehend budgets and performance for indvidual teams and stores
  • Ability and willingness to adapt, quickly learn and put to use new skills and knowledge brought about by rapidly changing structure, process, information and/or technology
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to formulate multiple recommendations for solution and collaborate with clients to tailor a fit for purpose solution
  • Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a matrix organisation
