12 Month Fixed Term, Full Time Contract Opportunity

About The Role

Reporting to the Team Leader, you will enjoy being an advocate for young people and supporting them by providing opportunities to voice their views and wishes and then sharing these with the wider care team.

The primary focus will be to meet the daily, short and long term needs of each service user by being the link between service user, direct support workers, line manager and key stakeholders. Your days will be busy, but varied with a mixture between administration tasks, communication with internal and external stakeholders, attending meetings, direct support of service users and assisting with coaching of direct carer staff.

There can be challenging days, when our young people are hurting and their pain is reflected in their behaviours, and this can be confronting and challenging to manage. However, we will provide you with a high level of support and training to equip you with the skills to responded to these behaviours and support your professional development.

Within this position, you will be on call on a rotational basis.

About You

You are passionate about the welfare of children and achieving the best outcomes for them.

You are a charismatic leader who can mentor your team members to overcome hurdles and achieve shared goals.

With great communication skills, you are capable of liaising comfortably with a range of internal and external stakeholders. You have a comprehensive knowledge of legislative and service requirements and promote a culture of compliance.

To be suitable for this position, your qualifications for the role will consist of:
  • A recognised qualification (Bachelor's degree or higher) in Social/Behavioural Sciences or related discipline;
  • Solid experience in leading a multidisciplinary team in a child protection context;
  • Applied knowledge and understanding of child protection and out-of-home care frameworks;
  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of care services to children and young people in statutory care;
  • Practical knowledge of financial management systems and budgeting;
  • Current drivers license (at least P2/Green Provisional);
