About the position

Roads, Drainage and Foreshores Maintenance are seeking to appoint a motivated individual to join the team as a Supervisor - Roads and Drainage.

Based at a Council Depot, the position incumbent will assist the Area Coordinator in coordination and provide day-to-day supervision and direction for work teams undertaking work activities associated with Roads, Drainage and Foreshores maintenance works, as required by Council's maintenance programs.

Please note that the successful applicant will be appointed at the appropriate level based on qualifications, skills and experience between level 3 and level 6.

Key deliverables of the position

  • Preparation, maintenance and implementation of current work schedules for day labour crews.
  • Supervise day labour and contractors tasks associated with the maintenance of Council's roads, footpath and drainage network.
  • Manage work orders in SAP via a desktop computer and mobile device (iPad).

  • Demonstrated ability to interact with others in a manner conducive to creating a cooperative team environment.
  • Sound physical health to enable incumbent to satisfactorily perform the duties required of the position.
  • Demonstrated numeracy and literacy skills commensurate with the requirements of the position.

About the branch

If successful, you will become a valued member of the City Maintenance branch. The City Maintenance branch is responsible for maintenance and cleaning services for the City's infrastructure assets which includes: buildings, bridges, parks, landscapes, roads, footpaths, beaches, canals, stormwater drainage and lakes.

These services are delivered in partnership with the respective asset custodians through service level agreements that define the roles, responsibilities, service and service level to be provided, with regular partnering meetings to monitor progress.
