The Quality leader is responsible to ensure all OHV processes and procedures are implemented and in place to be in line with the Wabtec OHV QMS.

Responsibilities:

  • Establishes and maintains local GE Mining QMS Procedures, Policies, Registers and Regulatory and Auditing Programs;
  • Maintain QMS records, compiles information, and prepares reports for internal and external stakeholders and bodies;
  • Performs preliminary review and analysis including liaising with Wabtec Quality teams for First Time Yield, External Escapes and Warranty claims;
  • Provides support to manufacturing operations in the review of products and of engineering and manufacturing processes;
  • Performs product audits in accordance with Wabtec/customer/industry standards, reports result, assigns and monitors follow-up actions;
  • Performs duties required by the Quality Management System;
  • Maintains Non Conformance, Document Revision, Change Management and Auditing tracking systems;
  • Project Lead for PPAP;
  • Provides direct mentorship to production personnel to continuously improve Quality practices;
  • Interfaces with production personnel, support staff, and members of the leadership team during the resolution of Quality issues and the implementation of corrective actions;
  • Participates in the development of new initiatives and solutions for continuous improvement;
  • Interpret, implement, and evaluate ongoing adequacy of QMS standards;
  • Review the implementation and efficiency of QMS systems;
  • Document internal audits and other QMS activities; evaluate findings and implement appropriate corrective actions;
  • Investigate Incidents and non-conformance issues;
  • Develop, recommend, and monitor corrective and preventive actions;
  • Prepare reports to communicate outcomes of QMS activities;
  • Participates in cross-functional efforts to ensure proper corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner;
  • Collaborates with production personnel to identify systemic root causes for non-conformances;
  • Oversee document management systems;
  • Assure ongoing compliance with QMS and organization requirements; and
  • Participate in workplace inspections and safe work observations;

Qualifications and Skills

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Quality/Quality Engineering discipline, Operations, or equivalent significant Mining/Manufacturing industry experience;
  • Six Sigma/Lean certifications or high level of understanding;
  • ISO45001 Certification/Lead Auditor Accreditation;
  • Track record of building relationships, influencing and communicating with a broad range of stakeholders to achieve business outcomes;
  • Demonstrated ability to identify problems, analyse data, generate opinions and implement innovative solutions to complex problems;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills; and
  • Ability to prioritise workload.
