POSITION SUMMARY


The E-Hearings Consultant is responsible for assisting Senior E-Hearings Consultants manage e-hearings projects. They must be able to advise clients on courtroom and arbitration data management best practices. They must work in collaboration with others in the E-Hearings and Operations teams to ensure the successful delivery of services.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Project Managing electronic hearings both from backend as well as client facing perspectives;

  • Providing advice and guidance both technical and practical to our clients;

  • Being thoroughly conversant with the electronic hearing processes:

    • document presentation system in court and presenting documents;

    • Maintaining and managing a consolidated daily list of documents presented and exhibited;

    • Receive, organize, and track data for processing using proprietary database technology;

    • Generate processing and exception reports using proprietary software and utilities;

    • Updating and maintaining the court book databases;

    • Assisting with courtroom setup and decommissioning;

  • Perform quality control and peer quality control on completed work product to ensure accuracy;

  • Use technical expertise and understanding of electronic discovery and data management tools;

  • Cater to client requests in a timely and organized manner.

  • Acknowledge, execute, complete, and track billable elements of a client or internal request.

  • Work closely with team members to troubleshoot data issues, research software and/or techniques to solve problems.

  • Communicate and collaborate with clients and internal Consultants.

  • Provide feedback to management about potential software improvements.

  • Assist with user acceptance testing for new software releases.

  • Solve problems and find solutions to Data and software Issues


SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • Educational background in Law, IT or Engineering
  • Enthusiastic about technology, innovation and the law
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Natural problem solver
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a distributed team environment
  • Willingness to travel interstate/international as required
  • Hard working attitude and a willingness to work flexible hours
  • Attentiveness and ability to listen to instruction of counsel in court;
  • Must possess great Excel skills including knowledge in the use of Excel formulae

Highly Regarded

  • Experience of procedural aspects of legal hearings;
  • Legal background and knowledge;
  • Interest in civil litigation/dispute resolution;
  • Sound technical knowledge and an appetite to learn;
  • Understand electronic discovery and data processing, imaging, OCR, and exports;
  • Prior Project Management experience and certification;
  • An understanding of database design and structure;
  • Visual Basic for Applications, Windows PowerShell and other scripting knowledge highly regarded
