JOB DESCRIPTION

Deliver effective risk management processes by establishing frameworks and adopting a conventional assurance approach for 2 major technology programs.

Our client, a prominent organisation within the resources industry, is seeking a Risk and Benefits SME to support the delivery of two significant technology programs. Working extensively with various project managers, you will be responsible for by establishing a program risk management framework, supporting business case approval and ensuring ways of tracking and measuring benefits. You will ultimately play a role in the overall embedment of program risk management practices across the organisation as it matures in this space.

This is an initial 6 month contract opportunity, with a possible extension, based in Brisbane CBD.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Business Case development to ensure that the rationale is sufficiently backed by evidence and able to be measured.
  • Develop and implement the benefits realisation framework with Program Leadership, ensuring the benefits realisation process is embedded within individual projects for execution.
  • Work with Project Managers, risk owners and business partners to ensure that benefits are appropriately measured.
  • Support Program Leadership and governance forums with management and reporting of program level delivery risks and associated actions.
  • Analyse projects level risks to identify themes and escalate as required.
  • Facilitate open and candid communication and engagement between stakeholders in order to ensure collaboration in benefit and risk identification.

What you will bring:

  • 5+ years experience in Information Technology, with demonstrated experience in programme and project delivery.
  • A solid understanding of risk management practices and their application to large programs of work and projects.
  • A solid understanding of benefits realisation process (risk benefits).
  • Confidence to operate at all levels of the business and the ability to work in a matrix organisation.
  • An understanding of system development lifecycle, preferably agile methodologies.
