The Role
We currently have a full time role available for an experienced Reel Store Supervisor to manage the day to day logistic operations of the reel store and the inbound and outbound movements of our metro fleet. You will be based in our Visy Logistics hub located in Gibson Island where you will lead a small team, schedule transport and maintain warehouse integrity, safety and compliance.

Reporting to the QLD State Logistics Manager, you will be a key member of our Visy Logistics team responsible for the continuous improvement of our reel store systems, processes, inventory and operations. Your team leadership, ability to build strong relationships and customer focus will ensure you are successful as well as your strong systems, logistics knowledge and inventory control, will assist you in controlling our costs, improve efficiency and accuracy in the management of inventory.

How you fit in:
You are a self-starter, hands-on and enjoy the pace this role has to offer. You play an integral part to ensure we meet our customer service deliverables, manage the 3PL metro allocations and will quickly learn how our stock flows and how our business runs.

Your key areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:

  • Schedule vehicles to meet customer delivery requirements whilst maximising the efficiency of the dedicated fleet
  • Determine and arrange for weekly and daily labour and vehicle requirements
  • Monitor and facilitate repairs and maintenance on company equipment
  • Supervise daily activities to ensure that work is performed safely, efficiently and in accordance with procedures
  • Communicate effectively and respond to all customer enquiries and mitigate any escalations or changes
  • Lead and develop your team, manage labour resourcing including annual leave and controlling overtime
  • HSE compliance, COR compliance, legislative compliance

Skills and Qualifications you will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in a Warehouse/Transport Supervisor role with stock and road replenishment, 3PL, intermodal transport and managing resources
  • Tertiary qualifications in Warehouse, Distribution or Logistics (desirable)
  • A current Forklift licence and experience driving a counterbalance forklift is mandatory, as you will support the team in high demands
  • A high regard for safety, compliance and adherence to safety rules, assessments and inductions
  • Ability to think on your feet to find the best solution to ensure we meet and exceed customer expectations
  • Excellent computer skills and experience using RF Scanning, ERP and inventory systems, scheduling, stock management
  • Highly self-motivated and as a natural leader you are assertive and not afraid to make a decision, will hold your team to account whilst bringing your team on the journey with you.
  • You are customer focused and can build strong relationships externally and internally, as this will be crucial to the success of his role.
  • A continuous improvement mindset to look at ways to improve profitability and efficiency
