Mount Isa Mines are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Supervisor, in the Mechanical Maintenance Team at the Copper Smelter. This position is residentially based in Mount Isa.

The Role

As a leader within our business you will be required to lead diverse teams and drive effective change. You will establish and develop a team culture that is focussed on excellence and continual improvement regarding safety and key deliverables for the business.

Reporting to the Superintendent – Mechanical Maintenance, you be required to work a roster of 4/3 day shift.

The Successful Candidate Will Be Responsible For
  • Promoting and delivering a culture of safety, operational excellence & continuous improvement
  • Contribution to processes and systems that underpin effective work management
  • Respond to developing issues and challenges in a professional and solution seeking manner
  • Challenging waste, rework and maximising value
  • Instilling housekeeping and professionalism as a key value within yourself and team
  • Working closely with our Engineering & Planning teams to meet business plans
  • Developing relationships with stakeholders across the site contributing to the professionalism and credibility of our team and assets
You will have the following skillset and attributes:
  • High level of attention to detail and flexible approach to business needs
  • Great time management skills and the ability to work independently and in a team
  • Experience in a similar leadership position within a large processing site would be preferred
  • Hold a current manual Australian driver’s license
  • Intermediate knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office suite, Ellipse and or SAP
  • Be a team builder with the ability to work with multiple disciplines and influence positive change
