Hays Marketing & Communications are currently working with a leading health not-for-profit organisation who is seeking a passionate and talented Digital/Social Media Manager to join the Brisbane team on a permanent basis.

About The Job

Working as part of the media and communications team you will be responsible for developing and implementing engaging content strategies for digital channels including social media and organisation website. This will include responding to consumer enquiries and handling feedback and comments. A genuine collaborator you will be comfortable working across the organisation and with external partners to develop content. Finally, you will be responsible for reporting on the success of your content.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Developing and producing content and strategies for social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn.
  • This includes content for key campaigns and fundraising initiatives and can involve working closely with the community, key stakeholders, healthcare professionals and others to develop unique and personalised content
  • Managing social media platforms including responding to enquiries and feedback Developing and managing paid ads across all social platforms
  • Helping to manage other digital channels including websites, microsites and EDMs
  • Collaborating with staff and external organisations to develop content for the social media platforms
  • Assisting with the production of video content for social media platforms as required
  • Producing a variety of reports to monitor and track performance and engagement of digital platforms
  • Monitoring emerging trends in social media and providing high-level advice to inform the direction of the digital strategy.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or similar

Essential criteria

  • Exceptional copywriter
  • At least two years’ experience producing compelling digital content across social media platforms
  • Experience managing reputation and brand through interactions with people on social media
  • Experience of HootSuite or similar social media management platforms.
  • Experience reporting on social media metrics
  • Demonstrated ability to build strategic relationships with key partners
  • High-level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Good knowledge of content management systems
  • Can thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with social media community management and having the ability to diffuse inappropriate discussions and make in-the-moment decisions that reflect the organisations core values
  • Strong attention to detail and proof-reading skills
  • Basic level of proficiency with the Adobe suite of programs
  • Experience with Facebook Ads Manager and managing budgets for paid ads across all platforms.


  • Basic video and photo editing skills.
  • Solid knowledge of SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics
