Location: Brisbane or Rockhampton, QLD

About the role:

  • Assists and supports Project Managers with end to end project controls requirements in areas including: cost estimating, project planning, scheduling, cost control, budget planning, earned value management and project close-out activities.
  • Responsibilities include estimating, budgeting, planning, scheduling, cost control, forecasting and project close-out/lessons learnt activities.
  • Responsibility for all month-end and financial year end close reporting and management reporting requirements.
  • Developing the project estimate quality, developing and safekeeping of benchmark and standard cost data for all projects under management
  • Identify improvements for the timely and effective resolution of active funds/cost settlement issues
  • Generate reports and conduct Project controls meetings with relevant managers
  • Working with internal stakeholders to develop best practice to manage capital investments
  • Manage Project finalisation (SAP closures, post project reviews)

About you:

  • Qualification in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, and/or Quantity Surveying would be preferred
  • 8+ years of Project and Program management experience rail and infrastructure capital projects
  • Proven experience with a broad range of project controls disciplines including planning, cost and risk management as well as monitoring, forecasting and reporting
  • High level of skill and extensive experience in technical aspects of project cost management and problem solving.
  • Proven experience with Primavera P6 and SAP
  • Manage multiple projects and prioritise accordingly
  • High level of interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills both written & verbal
  • Strong attention to detail and safety obligations of the organisation
  • Understanding and proven experience with scheduling and planning
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced and diverse environment with a desire to work in a team environment with elements of autonomy
  • Strong ability to manage change and capability to adapt to any situation
