This is a six (6) month fixed term, part-time (0.2FTE) position commencing Term 3, 2021

Rockingham Beach Education Support Centre (ESC) is seeking an organised and enthusiastic School Officer.

As the School Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the Manager Corporate Services with administering the financial management processes such as RM Billing, End of Month and End of Year procedures and reconciliation. As well, the School Officer is required to provide assistance to the administrative team with the management of physical and human resources of the school whilst upholding confidentiality and security of sensitive material.

Other duties include assisting the leadership team in the management of student information systems such as, enrolments, attendance, health records and censuses as well as maintaining school databases and records management information systems.

If you have a positive, welcoming attitude and a high level of interpersonal and organisational skills, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills, then you are strongly encouraged to apply. It would be desirable that applicants have the ability to work autonomously and collaborate within a team environment, have initiative, strong organisational skills and abilities to maintain the efficient operation of the administration area.

Rockingham Beach ESC was established in 1987 sharing a site with the Rockingham Beach Primary School. The schools are located behind Palm Beach Jetty in Cockburn Sound and adjacent to Lake Richmond, renowned for its ancient stromatolites. This situation provides ideal an environment for students to enhance their classroom activities through participation in maritime events and environmental studies towards the achievement of shared goals.

With our highly qualified specialist teachers and education assistants the level of support for students is very high and ensures the best outcomes for all students.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:

  • Experience in providing general office administrative support with ability to organise and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Ability to use computers and a range of application software packages, particularly databases, spreadsheets and word processing.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, including application of customer service principles and practices.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
