JOB DESCRIPTION

The Sales Manager will be the expert and practical adviser responsible for the sale and hiring of equipment solutions to customers in the coastal and civil construction market. A proactive market approach is required in order to carry out this role and you will work systematically to achieve pre-determined individual and departmental goals.

My client designs, builds and supplies accelerated hydraulic impact hammers used across civil and coastal construction projects. Globally, they are a market leader, supplying innovative equipment and solutions for foundation, installation and decommissioning in the oil and gas, offshore wind and coastal and civil markets.

Description

  • Approaching potential target customers and opening the door to new opportunities
  • Establishing long-lasting, value-adding relationships with new customers
  • Proactively approaching and visiting existing (captured) customers on a scheduled, frequent basis to maintain strong relationships
  • Advising customers on the correct equipment procedures on often tailor made solutions
  • Drawing up high quality sales quotations and price calculations for equipment
  • Negotiating and concluding rental and sales terms & conditions with customers with a risk based approach
  • Developing and managing sales pipeline with emphasis on order conversion
  • Participating in trade shows and organising road shows
  • Preparing and delivering technical presentations

Profile

  • A higher professional education diploma/qualification with a focus on civil or mechanical engineering
  • At least five years of demonstrable and relevant professional experience in the international sales of capital goods
  • A high level of experience in drawing up and negotiating contracts, or an aptitude for this area and a willingness to become proficient
  • Experience within the marine and/or civil construction markets, capital goods and project based work
  • A service oriented, commercial and flexible attitude
  • A high degree of independence and a hands on mentality
  • Excellent communication skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Willingness and the ability to travel frequently, particularly throughout the eastern states and NZ
