The Mackay Region

About the role:
Become a key member of Mackay Regional Council driving learning and development activities for the benefit of the Queensland water industry. We require a Learning & Development Project Coordinator - WIW to join our team based in our Gordon Street office. This position is Fixed Term Temporary until 30th September 2021 with a view to extend.

Responsible for the strategic development, delivery, promotion and continuation of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) Water Industry Worker (WIW) Project for Mackay Regional Council (MRC) and other involved Queensland Councils in the project. You will be creating deeper engagement with employees, industry and education providers.

To be successful in this role, you will have
  • Tertiary qualification (Certificate IV and above) in Training and Assessment, Human Resources or related field.
  • QLD “C” Class Drivers Licence or interstate equivalent.
  • Well-developed computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including the ability to use, interpret, and analyse complex datasets.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Australian Quality Training framework, Competency Base Training and Competency Base Assessment criteria.
  • Highly developed organisational, research, analytical, problem solving and conceptual skills
  • Highly developed written communication skills and the ability to prepare reports, discussion papers, strategic policies and submissions.
  • Understanding of Council’s Enterprise Risk Management Policy and Framework objectives as they impact the position.
