Our Operating Assets business are seeking multiple mechanical trade professionals to help ensure we continue to provide safe, reliable and on time trains. These opportunities will be for 3 and a half years with the potential to extend pending business needs.


There is the potential to work across two of our teams, Ipswich Workshops and Fleet Fitment project at Redbank. These opportunities will have you working for the biggest Rail name in Queensland and contributing to Queensland’s #1 infrastructure project Cross River Rail. You must be flexible to work in both teams.


In the Fleet Fitment project team you will be responsible for the fitment of European Train Control System (ETCS) onboard equipment and associated components to our fleet. You will also maintain and repair associated equipment and components using diagrams and test equipment and be responsible for inputting and reviewing data for workorders. This presents an opportunity for you to apply your knowledge and skills to the introduction of leading-edge rail technology that is new to the Australian rail landscape.


Our Ipswich Workshops are responsible for the maintenance and repair of our heritage rollingstock and major components of our regional fleet. You will ensure the repair, fault detection and maintenance of the fleet and associated equipment. You will also be responsible for ensuring the input of accurate data into the maintenance system.


Hours:


Project Team: Monday to Friday on a rotating roster which will include day shift (0600 – 1400) and afternoon shift (1400 – 2200)

Heritage Team: Monday to Friday 0700 – 1600. RDO every second Monday This may vary with business needs



We are looking for mechanical experience with inspections (fault finding) and repair on rollingstock or heavy mobile plant, an Aviation background will be well suited. Experience with pneumatics is desirable.


You must hold an Engineering Trades Certificate as a Mechanical Fitter or an equivalent qualification.


Base salary is $61,000 plus superannuation and penalties with the potential annual total $117,000 plus superannuation.
