Metallurgical Coal Australia
Metallurgical coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. In Australia, we operate two open cut and three underground metallurgical coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, every year producing millions of tonnes of the highest quality hard coking coal for this purpose.

Job Description
-We are seeking an experienced end to end Payroll professional to join our Payroll team at our Brisbane Corporate office.
This job encompasses the effective coordination of planning, control and sustainability of Data and Pay run Execution. This role will see you coordinate the effective integration of the Payroll and Data processes end to end, ensuring that all SLA targets and measures are met.
In addition, the position will investigate and close any escalated issues stemming from subordinates and escalate any issues that can’t be resolved to the appropriate position. This role is a key contributor towards ensuring processes are followed to pay all employees, correctly and on time.

  • You will be responsible for the complete end to end process of your own portfolio, with the ability to process both weekly and monthly pays
  • Payroll clearing account reconciliations, Coal Industry long service leave, payroll reporting and extensive liaison with the respective Coal Mine Sites.
  • Management of time and attendance exceptions through to statutory and ad hoc payroll disbursements.
  • Review and resolve payroll queries from relevant internal stakeholders
  • While working with the team to consistently deliver suggestion on improvements, efficiencies and processes

Qualifications
-To be successful you will need to have extensive experience in high volume, full function payrolls. Advanced Microsoft Excel and SAP knowledge is a required. Also having previous experience within a mining or heavy industry sector working across multiple Enterprise Arrangements and Awards will be highly regarded.
