THE ROLE

This is an exciting opportunity to join Origin’s Energy Supply and Operations Team as a Community Relations Officer providing community engagement support for the delivery of a wide range of Energy Supply and Operations (ES&O) community activities and initiatives. This position contributes to ensuring Origin’s ES&O businesses are performing at industry leading standards to make sure Origin’s reputation, shareholder, customer, community, and stakeholder expectations are exceeded


Responsibilities will include:


  • Supporting the delivery of community investment initiatives
  • Contributing to the coordination of community engagement events and activities
  • Support the implementation of local and stakeholder projects to manage relationships and further community acceptance
  • Providing support to maintain stakeholder relationships through ongoing communication (both structured and informal) to keep community stakeholders informed of Origin activity across all ES&O assets
  • Contributing to the development and preparation of key documentation related to ES&O community relations management
  • Assisting in the resolution of conflicts or issues to the mutual satisfaction of Origin and stakeholders as directed by the Senior Community Relations Business Partner

To be considered you will have:


  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a community relations role - Essential
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and spoken communication skills - Essential
  • Proven conflict management skills, ability to influence without authority - Essential
  • Excellent business acumen, demonstrated strong analytical and creative thinking ability - Essential
  • Understanding of energy sector - Desirable
  • Experience in external affairs, communications, or government relations fields - Desirable
