We currently have a full-time permanent opportunity for an experienced safety leader to ensure Citytrain Assets Rollingstock maintenance activities are compliant with Electrical Safety Act, WHS Act and other relevant legislation, standards and procedures.

As Principal Electrical Compliance & Safety Coordinator you will have the opportunity to provide leadership and work collaboratively with a large team of professionals in the development, implementation and ongoing improvement of a range of strategies, plans and programs.

About the role:
• Ensure that work performed on Rollingstock undergoing maintenance, modification, component exchange and repair is carried out in accordance with documented processes in compliance to the Electrical Safety Act.
• Apply change management principles to ensure required buy-in from leaders, employees and their representatives so that recommended changes to work practices and work environment are implemented efficiently into business as usual activities.
• Analyse current practices and operating environments to develop and implement work procedures and risk assessments that incorporate safe work processes and can be easily integrated into existing systems.
• Ensure identification of electrical safety compliance hazards and risks within relevant Citytrain Assets risk register in consultation with relevant stakeholders (including workforce, leaders, Unions, and contractors).
• Conduct risk based audits on electrical work being carried out on Citytrain Rolling stock fleet and equipment including Electronics Room and overhead isolation activities and provide associated coaching and business improvement initiatives to leaders.
• Maintain an Electrical Compliance and Quality Assurance audit and inspections program and provide reports and recommendations that consider legislative requirements, applicable governance (including standards and procedures), key risks and lessons from relevant investigations.
• Provide technical advice and support to Citytrain Assets management and technical representatives.

About you:
• Extensive knowledge of Electrical Compliance legislation, regulation, applicable standards, and best practice in the electricity and railway industries.
• High level of skill to lead, manage, implement and evaluate the electrical inspection and audit processes.
• High level of skill in the management, development and continuous improvement of maintenance systems and strategies through effective change management and application of legislative requirement into meaningful and logical work practices.
• High level of skill in managing and co-ordinating investigations into electrical issues and preparation of reports as applied to passenger Rollingstock operation, reliability and maintenance issues.
• Sound level of knowledge and skill in electrical railway systems including signalling, traction, high voltage and low voltage systems.
• Queensland Electrical Fitter and Mechanical license (compulsory)
