Position Summary
Blue Care are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our South Queensland Cluster.

You’ll ensure the effective and efficient delivery of maintenance services based out of the South QLD region including statutory compliance and timely delivery of services across properties from Gympie to Northern NSW.

Your role:

As our Maintenance Supervisor you will directly contribute to the provision of a safe and healthy environment for Blue Care residents, clients, staff and visitors. You’ll support the development of asset service plans, building condition reports and lifecycle replacement plans for the plant and equipment across your property portfolio, including the development of forward budget estimate and work programmes.
This role requires expert planning and attention to detail, previous experience auditing, scheduling maintenance, maintaining asset registers and accurate record keeping are all essential in this role. In addition, you will be tasked with the oversight of direct maintenance and grounds employees as well as a broad base of service delivery contractors, to ensure appropriate performance outcomes and compliance with relevant legislation.
While you will be based in the Cairns region, you will be required travel to services throughout the Cluster on a flexible basis.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Undertake the estimating, scoping, documentation, programming and delivery of project based works including replacement, upgrade, refurbishment and minor building works.
  • Monitor and ensure the timely response to maintenance and service requests and the delivery of services within agreed times and appropriate to the priorities.
  • Responsible for the procurement and supervision of service contracts, supplier agreements, preferred contractor arrangements, and the performance management of these contractors to ensure services are delivered in a cost effective, safe and timely manner.
  • Monitor and report on the budgets and financial outcomes for the areas allocated in an effective and responsible manner.
  • Represent the organisation during the statutory authority or accreditation agency inspections to ensure compliance with relevant criteria or legislation.
  • Ensure works are undertaken in a safe and hygienic manner, and that all Workplace Health and Safety and probity requirements are satisfied, including safe work method statements, adequate PPE, site inductions, appropriate supervision to promote a ‘zero harm’ environment.

Your technical skills & experience:

  • Relevant qualifications or trade certificate in facilities, building or construction industry discipline.
  • Current Drivers Licence.
  • Experience in the delivery of facilities or maintenance management services to a large portfolio of properties.
  • Experience in contract administration and/or management of trade qualifies staff and/or external service providers.
While not essential, an understanding of relevant workplace health and safety regulation and continuous quality improvement practices as well as previous experience in procurement and delivery of services through a broad contractor/subcontractor base would be beneficial in this role.
