Location

The iconic Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort, Gold Coast, is surrounded by lush tropical gardens and sparkling blue lagoons, comprising 295 guest rooms and suites, 9 meeting venues, four restaurants and bars in an absolute beachfront environment.

The Role

Reporting to the General Manager, the Director of Sales and Marketing has overall responsibility to maximise all revenue & marketing opportunities of the landmark resort. The candidate needs to embrace strong leadership skills, a thorough understanding of the market, with an entrepreneurial mindset.

Responsibilities include:


  • Maximise total hotel revenue, including room revenue, banquet and catering, all Food and Beverage revenue.
  • Maximise segmentation mix and increase business from existing channels while creating new business development opportunities.
  • Lead Brand and Market positioning and social media efforts for the Hotel
  • Maximise Marriott distribution channels
  • Develop a Sales and Marketing Strategy to maximise occupancy, revenue, and customer satisfaction for the Hotel
  • Participate in the preparation of the Strategic Business and Operating Plans.
  • Motivate the Sales team to review, analyse and collaborate on revenue opportunities
  • Collaborate with the Director of Revenue Management to evaluate business opportunities to include but not limited to configuration and compliance of optimisation tools, including Group Pricing and Catering segment, to provide pricing and inventory guidance to all sellers.
  • In addition, align with the Director of Revenue Management and the Marketing team on segment priorities, available need periods, and opportunities to subsequently develop strategies that drive top-line revenues.
  • Participate in total hotel management as a member of the base hotel Executive Committee.
  • Manage strong relationships with senior decision-makers from key leisure, PCO's, corporate accounts and travel agents
