Bwgcolman Community School is currently offering various opportunities for driven, eager and passionate Primary teachers to educate and influence children within the remote community and surrounds of Palm Island. We are currently accepting application for home economics, industrial technology design (manual Arts), General Secondary (English and Humanities) and marine science commencing in Term 3 2021 and 2022. The a successful applicant/s will have access to departmental funded removals/relocation expenses and accommodation upon application.

Bwgcolman Community School is a National Partnership Pre-Prep-12 school located on tropical Palm Island which is 65 km north north-west of Townsville in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. Bwgcolman Community School currently has 320 students spread across 14 classes.

About you

Ideally, applicants will also have registration with the Queensland College of Teachers, or be in the process of obtaining registration.

Applicants for this position must possess:

  • A relevant teaching qualification.
  • Current full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland. Pre-service/graduate teachers must have been granted provisional registration prior to commencing employment as a teacher.
  • In addition to registration, teachers working in Education and Care Services (including State Delivered Kindergarten programs) require an exemption card issued by Blue Card Services.
