JOB DESCRIPTION

A council in central Queensland is seeking a Project Manager to coordinate utilities (Water/Wastewater)

Your new company
This local government organisation is based in the Bowen basin and is experiencing significant infrastructure growth across the region. They are expanding their project management capabilities and instituting a new Project Management Office (PMO) within the organisation. Your new role
Reporting to the PMO Manager you will work with asset owners to deliver annual and multi-year utilities (water & wastewater) capital programs in accordance with the councils strategic asset management plans.

In a day to day capacity you will:

  • Coordinate the planning, design and scoping of utilities capital projects to be delivered by council resources
  • Coordinate the procurement of planning, design, construction and implementation of outsourced utilities projects
  • Coordinate design programs generated by utilities strategic asset management plans ensuring items are fit for purpose
  • Report against developed plans, programs and milestones


What you'll need to succeed
n order to be successful you will be a proven Engineer specialised in the design and construction of Water & Wastewater projects. In addition you will have

  • Demonstrated experience in design and construction of utilities capital and maintenance works
  • Demonstrated experience in producing timely high quality reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively consult and influence internal and external stakeholders to achieve a positive outcome.

What you'll get in return
This permanent position offers a generous remuneration package between $126,850 - $137,887 + Superannuation. In conjunction with a 9 day fortnight or 19 day working month, for work life balance purposes.

This position will provide you with the opportunity to be apart of a new PMO division within council, where your expert knowledge and experience will shape how council delivers all of their capital and maintenance projects.
