About Department
The Infection Control and Outbreak Management team has responsibility across all campuses of St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne. This role will be primarily located at the Fitzroy campus or working from home.

About the Role
The COVID Contact Tracer will assist in the assessment, management and follow up of staff and patients exposed to COVID including health care associated infections, community and interstate exposures. This will be under the direction of the Outbreak Management Coordinator, Contact Tracing Team Leader and the Infectious Diseases and Microbiology physicians where appropriate. You will also be responsible for additional COVID activities as required.

The classification for this position will be HS1 ($58,442 per annum pro rata).

Duties

  • Participates in identifying and implementing appropriate interventions to meet best practice
  • Brings identified areas for improvement to attention of Outbreak Management Coordinator & Team Leader
  • Monitors and ensures adherence to the organisation's policies and procedures and relevant legislation, statutory requirements and common law affecting clinical practice
  • Displays and encourages questioning of practices and procedures
  • Displays appropriate decision making skills congruent with the strategic direction of the department

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • APHRA Registration - RN Division 1/Allied Health/Public Health (desirable)
  • The ability to work without supervision and effectively in a team setting
  • The ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Be on call when required
