About This Opportunity

This position will provide a specialist statistical advisory service to postgraduate students, academic and research staff in the School. Additionally, this position will be expected to provide leadership in the design and introduction of statistical concepts and systems for the support of research and will be expected to provide statistical training for postgraduate students and support undergraduate statistical teaching.

This position is located at our picturesque St Lucia campus, renowned as one of Australia’s most attractive university campuses, and located just 7km from Brisbane’s city centre. Bounded by the Brisbane River on three sides, and with outstanding public transport connections, our 114-hectare site provides a perfect work environment – you can enjoy the best of both worlds: a vibrant campus with the tradition of an established university.

Our Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this opportunity, you will hold a postgraduate degree in Science, Environmental Science, or Agricultural Science with extensive training and significant experience in Biometrics/Applied Statistics or extensive relevant experience. You will also be able to demonstrate extensive knowledge of the statistical procedures involved in the design and analysis of experiments in scientific areas, demonstrated knowledge of statistical packages, experience organising and administering training workshops, and excellent interpersonal skills.

What We Can Offer

This is a full-time, continuing position at HEW level 8.

The base salary will be in the range $100,264 - $112,583, plus super of up to 17%. The total package will be in the range $117,308 - $131,722.
