About Us

Arrow Energy is an integrated coal seam gas (CSG) company, which develops gas fields, produces and sells CSG and generates electricity.

We have safely and sustainably developed CSG since 2000 and supplied it commercially since 2004 – for industrial use and power generation in northern Queensland, and for generation and the east coast gas market in the south.

Our corporate office is in Brisbane’s CBD, and we operate in the Bowen Basin in central Queensland, and in the Surat Basin in southern Queensland, where we are starting a major new development which is planned to bring about five trillion cubic feet of reserves to market over 27 years.

Arrow is owned by two of the world’s largest oil and gas companies, Shell and PetroChina.

To meet our growing demands, we are looking for a Community Officer to join our team.

The Role

Reporting to the Community Manager, you will liaise closely with field-based Arrow staff, external stakeholders, particularly communities, partner organisations and Local, State and Federal Governments, to support delivery of community engagement.

In addition you will:

  • Actively support Arrow’s commitment to occupational health, safety and the environment;
  • Provide project coordination support for the effective operation of the Arrow Energy Dalby Community Information Centre.
  • Support the Community Manager and Community Specialist (Dalby) to implement the company’s corporate and project-specific community engagement and consultation plans to ensure ongoing community relationships are maintained;
  • Collaborate within the department (social investment, Indigenous Relations and Sustainable Development, Media, Communications, Tenure Management, Government Relations) to assist in delivering opportunities for building a positive reputation from community engagement and projects;
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of Arrow Energy’s “Brighter Futures” community investment program;
  • Assist in maintaining the corporate stakeholder database (Dynamics) and Complaints Management System to ensure the timely, accurate and consistent dissemination of information.

About You

You will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to contribute to a high performing-team with a second-to-none focus on safety.

Your appointment will be met with ongoing training and development opportunities, to ensure your greatest potential is realised.

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Bachelor of Business majoring in public relations, communications or progressing towards or have industry experience in a similar role.
  • Proven experience within a community relations/stakeholder engagement role.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, program management and administration.
  • Knowledge of the local community will be highly regarded.
  • Experience in the oil & gas industry and knowledge of the challenges associated are highly regarded.
