Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join their team in a permanent full-time role, with an immediate start on offer to the right person.

Located in the Burleigh area, the primary focus of the role is to provide highly accurate payroll functions for the business. We are seeking the type of person that is very focused on their work, able to communicate effectively with the team and is confident in the work that they do.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Payroll Manager and will assume accountability for managing, processing and driving the day to day payroll operations for the business in an overall large volume payroll faculty.

Your duties will include:

  • Processing of the full payroll function for the site
  • Responding to payroll queries including Interpreting awards, legislation and enterprise bargaining agreements;
  • Facilitating and processing employee onboarding, changes and terminations as they occur across the business
  • Maintenance and upkeep of the Payroll spreadsheet database
  • Working within the broader finance team, supporting Business Managers, Supervisors and Team Leaders through the Payroll process

We are seeking a real team player that meets the following criteria

  • Proven experience in payroll and associated software
  • Experience in interpreting Awards, Agreements and relevant Legislation;
  • Strong administrative skills with a high focus on accuracy, and record keeping
  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet management as well as Word, and Outlook for daily functions
  • A good telephone manner, positive attitude and team focused personality
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills to interact with staff
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Very good organisational and time management skills to meet deadlines
