In this role, you will lead curriculum focus in line with school and departmental initiatives and participate in delivering the vision of State Schools Division. The successful candidate will develop the quality of teaching and learning and nurture positive relationships between students, teachers and stakeholders. The duration of this vacancy is 12 July 2021 until 10 December 2021 with the possibility of extension. Your Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists for a futures-focused, dynamic leader with demonstrated expertise and skills in the Mathematics area to join the leadership team at Clontarf Beach State High School.

You will be responsible for the management and welfare of approximately 60 Year 7 - 12 students' wellbeing and academic progress within their “House”. This structure provides a unique learning environment that ensures every student in the school is known and their learning needs are planned.

It also provides the basis of a student monitoring system ensuring that every student's progress is managed and that there is a strong emphasis on high performance and success.

Your Role

As the Head of Department you will have responsibility for but not limited to the following:

  • Lead the school department to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance.
  • Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
  • Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups.
A Mandatory Requirement Of This Role Is
  • Current full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland. For more information please CLICK HERE .
