About the Position
An exciting position is available within the Strategy and Innovation Branch for a Waste Project Officer. The Waste Project Officer role is integral to the Resource Recovery Team, which delivers Solid Waste Strategy 2024 initiatives that contribute to the achievement of City, State and National Waste targets.
Key responsibilities of the position

Manage and implement projects in conjunction with key stakeholders and business areas, to achieve outcomes identified in the Solid Waste Strategy 2024.
Develop project plans and manage project timelines, risk, governance, budget and reporting requirements.
Manage contract arrangements in collaboration with Procurement and relevant stakeholders.
Engage with internal and external stakeholders to achieve Strategy outcomes.
Undertake research, analysis and investigations.
Meet governance requirements.

About You

Your skills and expertise:

A formal qualification in project management methodology (e.G. Certificate IV/Diploma of Project Management, accreditation in PMBOK , PRINCE2, or equivalent) or the equivalent knowledge
Experience in best practice project management - including scope, time, cost, quality, people, communications, cost, risk, procurement and integration management
Sound knowledge and experience in waste management and resource recovery, and in implementing and delivering waste avoidance and recycling projects to the relevant commercial and domestic community stakeholders.
City specific software experience (or willingness to learn) - Project Online, SAP, ARCGIS, VISIO, Wastedge, Project Online
Excellent written skills for application in writing reports, briefing notes, agenda items and developing and delivering presentations
Excellent verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on consultation, negotiation, analysis and investigations, to influence outcomes to achieve deliverable.
Strong data analysis skills to support initiative justification, delivery and measurement.
