About Department

The Department of Neurosurgery offers a broad range of neurosurgical experiences with a particular emphasis on the management of intracranial tumours, skull base surgery, pituitary, epilepsy and spinal surgery.

About the Role

The Unaccredited registrar is involved in the daily management of patients in the outpatient, inpatient and surgical settings at St. Vincent's Hospital Melbourne. The position involves participation in the on-call roster which includes nights and weekends as well as participation in clinic audit meetings, journal club, neuropathology, neuroradiology, neurovascular meetings and tutorials. Research is highly encouraged in this position.

Hours: 1 EFT (43hrs +/- overtime)

Closing Date: 20/06/2021

Classification Range: HM25 - HM30 ($119,542.8 - 164,538.40)

Contract Start Date: 07/02/2022

Contract End Date: 05/02/2023

Essential Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience applying medical knowledge towards sound clinical diagnosis, investigation and treatment of patients
  • Demonstrated effective communication with patients, relatives, staff and colleagues
  • Classification of PGY4 or greater
  • Full working rights in Australia
  • Hold current AHPRA registration & hold an MBBS or equivalent
  • Hold a current, or willing to undergo a satisfactory National Police Check and if required a NDIS Check at your own expense.
  • Have a commitment to deliver the best in patient care and safety
  • Demonstrated to teaching and interest in research
