This position supports the Business in all generalist HR activities and will be responsible for the timely provision of high level procedural advice and support on all facets of human resources management to managers and staff within the organisation.

This generalist position manages the end-to-end targeted recruitment processes including the provision of advice on recruitment, selection, on-boarding, employee compliance and data base management. This position requires the ability to work autonomously with limited direction in accordance with set procedures.

Skills and Experiences:

  • Degree or Diploma qualified in Human Resources
  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of Human Resource Management functions including, recruitment and selection, records management and policy development and implementation
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply legislation, policies and procedures related to Human Resource Management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited directions, demonstrate initiative, manage competing demands and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, implement and manage activities related to the role.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of Human Resource Management systems and the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
  • Proven experience in a similar generalist role.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with employees at our regional sites
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills which can be delivered confidently
  • Focused on customer service delivered in a positive and compassionate nature
  • Confident in decision making and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge and experience in dealing with the IR/ HR complexities in relation to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island peoples and the issues faced by staff in remote communities.
  • Experience managing projects of minor complexity including implementing actions plans would be desirable.
  • Previous experience in Employment, Child Safety, Health, RTO, Labour Hire and/or Apprenticeship services (not all required).
