CRISIS RESPONSE WORKER

The Centre for Women & Co. exists to deliver responsive, high quality and holistic women services to the Logan and Redland Regions, encompassing domestic and family violence support services and women’s health and wellbeing support services.

The Role – The Crisis Response Worker’s role is responsible for providing services directly to women who are experiencing Domestic and/or Family Violence. The Crisis Response worker role involves directly responding to clients who present in crisis, support in risk assessment, and safety interventions.

The role involves directly responding to clients who present in crisis, providing immediate support to clients requiring risk assessment, safety intervention and planning as well as urgent referrals and supportive monitoring and follow up.

The Centre for Women & Co. is seeking a passionate, highly experienced Crisis Response Worker to join our Logan team in a full time position for 12 months, with the possibility of continuation (funding dependant).

About You – You will have well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, enabling you to communicate effectively with a broad range of people and be proficient in preparation and management of case notes.

Your proven capability to effectively and appropriately engage with women and children who have experienced Domestic and/or Family Violence and communicate with people from diverse social and cultural backgrounds is essential to this role.

You will have an extensive understanding of and experience in crisis support, case management, intake and/or Advocacy within the domestic and family violence women’s sector, with a demonstrated ability to work with various therapeutic frameworks.

Your demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast paced environment, together with a willingness and commitment to provide optimum service delivery will enable you to work collaboratively and effectively with team members, clients and other organisations within the Logan community.

Selection Criteria – (please address each in your application)

  • Possession of relevant tertiary qualifications in the human services field, social work, psychology or similar, and relevant experience
  • Example of your ability to thrive under pressure in a fast paced environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant services existing to assist women and children experiencing Domestic and /or Family Violence
  • Understanding of and alignment with the feminist framework and its practical application in a progressive workplace
  • A working knowledge of current legislation relevant to the protection of victims of domestic and family violence and a working knowledge of the Family Law and Child Protection Acts.
