About This Opportunity

This is a joint position across QBI and ITEE, undertaking neuroimaging research on a 2-year externally funded research project that seeks to develop a new, highly sophisticated tool for the accurate prediction and progression on a person-by-person basis of traumatic brain injuries (TBI).

This position is located at our picturesque St Lucia campus, renowned as one of Australia’s most attractive university campuses, and located just 7km from Brisbane’s city centre.

Our Ideal Candidate

Boasting experience with modern image analysis techniques and/or neuroimaging tools and algorithms, you must have obtained a PhD in one or more of Biomedical or Electrical Engineering, Computer Vision, Medical Image Processing/Analysis, Computer/Data Science, Neuroimaging or a related field such as Medical Physics. Demonstrated expert knowledge and publication track-record in one of the fields of medical imaging, neuroimaging, computer vision or a related area is essential. In addition, outstanding communication, interpersonal and organisation skills along with demonstrated ability to bring research to publication will see you excel in this role.

Finally, broad scientific interest and curiosity towards developing clinically applicable diagnostic tools for neurological conditions as well-developed professional contacts with leading researchers in the field of neuroimaging, computer vision or medical imaging would be highly desirable.

What We Can Offer

This is a full-time, fixed term position for up to two (2) years at Academic level B

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $99,542.79 - $118,206.74 per annum plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $116,465.07 - $138,301.88 per annum.
