Gidgee Healing is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service representing the health needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across the North West and Lower Gulf regions of Queensland with a commitment to supporting Aboriginal communities’ own solutions to living long healthy lives, strengthen their culture and regain their spirit.

Gidgee Healing provide a broad range of primary health care and aged care services and are the largest Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service provider by land area in Queensland, with a vast service footprint spans approximately 640,000 km2, including 11,000 Indigenous people.

As Director Primary Health Care, you will ensure accessible, culturally appropriate, safe and high quality primary health care services for First Nation people in Mount Isa and the Lower Gulf of Carpentaria. Supported by a high performing team, you will develop relationships and engage with community members, consumers and providers regarding current and emerging primary health care service delivery reflected through the development of operational, change management and project plans.

Ideally you will possess experience working in an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service and the context that these services operate in. Current registration with AHPRA and tertiary qualification in public health or business are preferred. Achievements delivering primary health care across multiple locations and disciplines, as well as experience managing relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders will be well regarded. To be effective in this role you will need excellent communication and organisational capabilities with a commitment to continuous improvement and the delivery of safe, high quality primary health services.
