Gidgee Healing is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service representing the health needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across the North West and Lower Gulf regions of Queensland; committed to supporting Aboriginal communities’ own solutions to living long healthy lives, strengthen their culture and regain their spirit.

Gidgee Healing provides a broad range of primary health care and aged care services and are the largest Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service provider by land area in Queensland, with a vast service footprint spans approximately 640,000 km2, including 11,000 Indigenous people.

As Director Aged Care and Residential Care, you will ensure accessible, culturally appropriate, safe and high quality aged care services for First Nation people in Mount Isa and in the Lower Gulf of Carpentaria. Responsible for aged care and residential care operations located at Normanton, Doomadgee and Mornington Island, you will collaborate with primary health care providers to ensure that aged care and residential care is integrated and meets the needs of aged and residential care residents as well as support access to specialist outreach clinics to improve community access to secondary care.

Ideally you will demonstrate experience working in an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service and the context that these services operate in. You will ideally hold current registration with AHPRA and tertiary qualifications in public health/business and demonstrate success delivering aged care and residential care across multiple locations and disciplines. To be effective in this role you will need excellent communication and organisational capabilities with a commitment to continuous improvement and the delivery of safe, high quality aged care and residential care services.
