The School of Chemical Engineering is an international leader in the chemical engineering field and has an excellent reputation, built over 100 years at The University of Queensland.

We deliver quality programs and leadership in chemical engineering education, research and development, and expert consulting to support the process industries. About This Opportunity

The school is seeking an innovative and enthusiastic Postdoctoral Research Fellow to assist with the investigation of the interfacial transport resistance of adsorbates in nanomaterials and membranes, such as zeolites, MOFs and ZIFs, through molecular dynamics simulation.

In addition, you may be required to investigate resistance for multicomponent fluids using molecular dynamics simulation and theoretical models, with the goal of understanding the influence of fluid-solid interaction on the transport. The successful candidate will, in close collaboration with the research team, undertake research work directed along the above lines.

This position is located at our picturesque St Lucia campus, renowned as one of Australia’s most attractive university campuses, and located just 7km from Brisbane’s city centre. Bounded by the Brisbane River on three sides, and with outstanding public transport connections, our 114-hectare site provides a perfect work environment – you can enjoy the best of both worlds: a vibrant campus with the tradition of an established university.

Our Ideal Candidate

As the successful candidate, you will have a PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or other related discipline. In addition you will have a documented record of successful research involving molecular simulation or statistical mechanics.

It would be advantageous to have a strong publication record in leading journals along with a demonstrated ability to design and carry out simulations and related theoretical modelling.

What We Can Offer

This is a full-time, fixed term position for two (2) years at Research Academic level A.

The full-time equivalent base salary for Level A will be in the range $88,411 - $94,637, plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $103,442 - $110,726 per annum.
