In your role as permanent Head of Department - Senior Secondary, you will significantly contribute to a high expectations and performance culture through strong Instructional Leadership to focus on continuous improvement in student performance. This will be underpinned by high impact teaching practices reflecting the school's pedagogical framework (ASoT) and aligning with the school's priorities. The Head of Department - Senior Secondary will be instrumental in engaging and influencing Deputy Principals, Heads of Departments and all teachers to improve student outcomes through the analysis of data. They will be focused on liaising with curriculum leaders to support classroom teachers to ensure a trajectory of continuous improvement and academic growth.

As the Head of Department you will have responsibility for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Lead the school department to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focused on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance.
  • Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.

A mandatory requirement of this role is:

  • Current full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland.
  • Teachers working in Education and Care Services (including State Delivered Kindergarten programs) require an exemption card issued by Blue Card Services.
