About the Role

  • Mechanical trade, experienced in maintenance & operations of gas plant & equipment
  • Plant optimisation and reliability focus
  • 2 x permanent positions (2 on /2 off roster) with FIFO available

AGL have 2 exciting opportunities for experienced and Mechanical Trade qualified Operator / Maintainers, working as part of the operations team to facilitate the production and storage of Natural Gas & LPG gas while ensuring safe, optimal and reliable operation of all plant and equipment.

These positions will be based at one of either our Silver Springs, or Wallumbilla plants located in QLD’s Surat Basin; working a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off roster.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Carry out maintenance on gas compressors, gas and diesel generators, heavy and light vehicles
  • Participate in risk assessments for the safe undertaking of tasks
  • Maintain equipment to a high standard to optimise operations and achieve minimal down-time. Assist with operation of plant as required
  • Participate and contribute to the AGL HSE goals
  • Carry out inspections and audits to ensure compliance
  • Contribute ideas and initiatives to improve processes
  • Ensure the safe and sustainable production of the assets

About You

What you’ll bring to the table:

Previous similar plant and/or field maintenance experience is essential. You will work closely with the Shift Supervisor and the Mechanical Engineering Team; to deliver day-to-day maintenance tasks and ensure the safe and reliable operation of the asset.

  • Mechanical Trade qualification with previous maintenance and operations experience working on gas plant & equipment. Type B Gas licence highly advantageous (but not essential)
  • Previous experience and good technical knowledge of maintaining gas compressors (eg: Ajax, Caterpillar, Waukesha, Superior or Aerial), experience with micro-turbines preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting capabilities and a strong and positive attitude towards a safe workplace is critical
  • A collaborative and inclusive work style to work in a diverse team

In this role you will work a 2 week on, 2 week off roster with the ability to work FIFO depending on location.
