About the role

An opportunity exists for a Personal Care Worker to join our team at Fassifern Aged Care Service in the delivery of services to our 91 residents. Located in Boonah, which is 90 minutes south west of Brisbane CBD you will be joining our small but delightful aged care community. Boonah has a number of heritage listed sites and forms part of the wonderful Scenic Rim region.

You will assist residents with activities of daily living in a way that maximises their independence. Your role will be varied but centred around providing quality personal care and quality improvement activities. This will include assisting residents with their mobility to and from activities including meals and supporting them to participate in activities within the facility and social outings.

In this casual role you will be covering a variety of shifts including night and weekend shifts. If you are looking for a diverse and rewarding role that has a positive impact on the lives of seniors, this might be the right opportunity for you.

About you

You are often praised for your compassionate nature and approachability. You will have the ability to easily establish and build rapport with people, in addition to being a naturally caring and positive individual. You are an enthusiastic reliable worker, who enjoys being a team player, yet can work autonomously.

Your experience and qualifications for this role ideally, should include:

  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care) or Certificate III in Aged Care;
  • Completed 'Assisting Clients with Medication' competency;
  • Current First Aid Certificate is desirable;
  • Solid demonstrated experience in Aged Care;
  • Current National Police Check or ability to obtain:
  • Ability to obtain an NDIS worker screening check.

Please note, all employees working within our residential and community aged care will need to be immunised for Influenza from 01/05/2020. If you have already received your flu vaccination, we ask that you provide proof as part of the recruitment process.
