Your Opportunity

The Head of Department (Student Services) reports to the Deputy Principal and is a member of the leadership group at Tully State High School.

The position is responsible for the overall development of school policies and practices relating to student wellbeing, pastoral care and the management of behavioral development and attendance.

Your Role

The role at Tully State High School currently is guided by a range of school priorities including:

  • Case management & referral and monitoring processes for red zone students.
  • Systematic development of curriculum that aligns with the Australian Curriculum.
  • Welfare and support structures aligned with different needs groups.

The Head of Department, Student Services will:

  • focus on initiatives to support the educational outcomes for students
  • incorporate the vision of State Schools Division into school planning
  • develop the quality of teaching and learning
  • nurture positive relationships between students, teachers and community.

A mandatory requirement of this role is:

  • Current full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland.
  • Teachers working in Education and Care Services (including State Delivered Kindergarten programs) require an exemption card issued by Blue Card Services.
