We're currently seeking an experienced Hydraulic Technician to join our client, a leading Australian owned engineering company in Gladstone.

We’re currently seeking an experienced Hydraulic Technician to join our client, a leading Australian owned engineering company to work in their Gladstone branch.

Duties

The key accountabilities include:

  • Using testing equipment to diagnose, repair and maintain fluid power components and systems
  • Performing operational maintenance of machines
  • Overhauling and repairing mechanical parts and fluid power equipment
  • Diagnosing faults and performing operational maintenance of machines, and overhauling and repairing mechanical parts and fluid power equipment
  • Diagnosing and recommending solutions to fluid power and engineering problems
  • Identify and repair fluid power components such as pumps, cylinders, valves reservoirs, motors, accumulators, hose fittings and filters
  • Read and interpret hydraulic schematics
  • Installing hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines
  • Ensure all work is completed to health, safety, environment and quality requirements
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including site owner representatives

Skills & Experience

To be successful the following knowledge and experience is required:
  • A trade qualification as a fitter or equivalent with hydraulic experience
  • Experience in hydraulic hose assemblies, tube manufacture and installation
  • Formal fluid power post trade training or relevant industry experience would be highly regarded
  • Have a high safety focus
  • A current driver’s licence
