Job Description
The operations team leader is responsible for the day to day operations of the Mackay Workshop/Site Facility and implementing continuous improvement and safety systems to meet business objectives

Main Duties
Operations Management (50%)

Project Management, scheduling and Prioritising of projects and fabrication builds

Reviewing drawings, Bill of Material (BOM) and working with project coordinator on ensuring components are received for projects

Planning and Prioritising Service Work

Oversight of Warehousing & Stock control and working with the Commercial Operations team as necessary

Forecasting & management of Budgets

Providing back-up for Project Co-Ordinator and warehouse functions

People Management (20%)

Supervision of 3 direct reports

Reviewing team performance and competencies and preparing development plans

Workforce planning & allocation of tasks to ensure coverage and accountability of business objectives

Team engagement and building team collaboration

Partnership with Sales (20%)

Partnering with sales to enable profitable business growth through balanced risk between project opportunities and project execution

Weekly meetings to review customer requirements & delivery expectations of projects

Quality and OHS Systems (10%)

Integration and implementation of Pall Quality and Safety Systems and all associated policies and procedures

Identify hazards and risk and determining countermeasures

Ensuring site associates, visitors, delivery drivers etc adhere and align with site safety policies

Ensuring Good Housekeeping of Warehouse and Mackay Site

Attending monthly National Safety Committee meetings

Key Requirements & Competencies

Experience in supervising a Mechanical workshop and/or operations team

Leadership skills with commercial acumen. Understands and applies Project Management Skills

Strong Mechanical mentality and ability to read engineering drawings

Continuous process improvement and problem-solving ability

Microsoft Office (word, excel, power point, planning software) + SAP and CRM platforms

Basic process engineering calculations (such as line sizing, hydraulic calculation) are beneficial

Familiar with layout / plot plan studies & assessment of site challenges

Forklift license desirable
