About the role

Mater Hospital Brisbane is seeking highly motivated and experienced Enrolled Nurses to join our General Surgical ward. This position will be a permanent part time role for 24 hours per week.

Ward 9A is a 27-bed multidisciplinary ward which cares primarily for older public patients, encompassing a diverse range of specialties including Cardiac, Respiratory, Endocrine, Dermatology and infectious conditions. As part of Mater Health’s recent expansion we now provide a renal dialysis service, leading to a subsequent increase in the renal inpatient service.

The successful applicants for these positions will be responsible for providing quality care to pre and post-surgical patients including Colorectal, GynaeOncology, Plastics and Reconstruction, Breast and Endocrine, Urology, and Vascular patients.
These positions will involve working 24/7 rotating rostered shifts including early, late, night and weekend shifts.

Salary range: $28.50 - $31.51 (Assistant in Nursing) per hour plus superannuation

You will support the nursing team to continue in the provision of expert care to patients who are seeking excellent standards of nursing care at all times. Your enthusiasm and skills will see you seamlessly integrate in to this outstanding team, assisting to provide an exceptional level of care and to hit-the-ground-running.

About you

To be considered for this position, you will have:

  • Certificate III in Health Services Assistance or working towards completion
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other health professionals, patients and relatives/carers
  • Skills to assist with the management of stock
