About Department

St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne is partnering with Launch housing and Brotherhood of St Laurence in alignment with our organisational values and mission to operate Sumner House, a Covid Isolation and Recovery Facility( CIRF). It is a 42 bed facility spread over 4 floors. All rooms have an ensuite bathroom. There is a range of lounge rooms, activity rooms, dining rooms and court yard. This facility is ideally located in Fitzroy close to St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne. The facility will be staffed 24 hours 7 day per week with a multidisplinary team from St Vincent's as well as housing and support workers from Launch Housing. Sumner house provides a safe supportive environment for clients to quarantine who are close contacts with COVID (SCOVID) or infective with COVID. Our vulnerable clients tend to have complex needs and require clinical support for this period.

About the Role

This Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC)/team leader , will lead the multi-disciplinary team at Sumner House to ensure a safe and restorative environment for consumers and staff, and provides clinical leadership and advice to the wider team.

The CNC will coordinate referrals, allocate beds, provide clinical support on-site or via telehealth and support transfer of care/discharge processes.

It is noted this position will be working within an evolving situation and it is recognised that duties, within scope, may need to change in response to the needs of the pandemic.

The salary range for this position is ZA7 - ZA8 ($112,476 - $115,154 per annum).

Duties

The Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 5 is expected to:

  • Provide operational and clinical leadership to the CIRF team to ensure the delivery of an effective and safe service
  • Coordinate intake, referral and allocation
  • To attend twice daily IATTS meetings and other operational meetings as requested
  • Liaison with DHHS Public Health team as required
  • Provide clinical advice regarding management of residents

Qualifications, Skills, Experience

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Clinical expertise in Acute Care, Alcohol and Other Drug, Mental Health, or Homeless Health Nursing
  • Current Driver's License
