Jacobs has an opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Environmental Scientist /Consultant to join our growing Environmental Approvals team in Brisbane. We are looking for a professional who can prepare inputs for the delivery of environmental impact assessments, constraints and opportunity analyses, environmental plans and approvals. You will work with the Environmental Leadership team to build effective relationships with our clients, technical specialists and our Sales team. #ANZEnviro #LI-LM1234

Key responsibilities include

Supporting environmental surveys, principally within Queensland, but with some scope for other states
Providing environmental impact assessment expertise to resolve client/project requirements
Providing environmental advice to Jacobs Project Managers and clients in the form of concise reporting
Providing support to the broader Jacobs environmental teams in the winning of work, project execution management and delivery
Undertaking a variety of specialist roles relating to project delivery based on relevant experience
Developing and diversify ecological skills through project experience and training
Technical input to projects, provision of client advice, assist with project management and participation in assessments for a wide variety of multi-disciplinary projects and sectors

Here’s What You’ll Need

Tertiary education in Environmental Science or similar
Understand and comply with environmental science and management legislative requirements and industry practices
Assist with the implementation of effective project management of environmental related projects
Have a minimum 5 years’ experience in the environmental or ecology industry, with at least 3 years within the consulting sector
Understanding of the biodiversity (in either terrestrial, aquatic or marine) of Queensland Field survey experience – planning, mobilising and managing
Driver’s license essential, 4wd experience/qualification useful
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
A focus on developing your own technical and functional skills to progressively take on greater responsibilities as your experience grows.
