About the Role

We’re on the hunt for an experienced governance or company secretarial professional to lead the implementation and administration of a compliant and effective executive accountability framework across Youi. You will partner with cross-functional teams including Legal, Risk, Compliance and HR to drive excellent outcomes for Youi as it implements the new Financial Accountability Regime (FAR). The successful person will be responsible for ensuring Youi, its Board of Directors, senior executives, and ‘accountable persons’ are meeting the expectations of FAR in accordance with the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA). Once the project is delivered, you will have an ongoing role in managing Youi’s obligations to FAR and will be a trusted advisor to Youi’s executives and directors. At a high-level, your key activities will include:

  • Lead the development and implementation of FAR/ Project Management

  • Developing and maintaining a thorough knowledge and understanding of FAR governance standards

  • Work closely with Accountable Persons, their staff, and the wider business to embed the accountability framework and the implementation of governance initiatives

  • Leveraging the Risk, Legal & Compliance (RLC) system to ensure that it is fit for purpose to support FAR and optimised for reporting and user experience

  • Liaise and build strong partnerships with key contributing functions e.g. HR, RLC

  • Build FAR considerations into Youi’s change management processes to ensure reasonable steps and accountability statements are considered with each business change

  • Design, implement and monitor reasonable steps for all accountable persons to ensure accountable persons are aware of their compliance with their statements

  • Monitor potential changes to accountable persons and their roles

  • Develop, review and update guidance, documents, and processes to support adherence to FAR

  • Coordinate the registration process, including the assessment of suitability of Accountable Persons, and assisting with the drafting and ongoing review of Accountability Statements and supporting documents

  • Support the Head of Assurance in conducting reviews, monitoring, and reporting on implementation, issues, gaps, and emerging risks associated with FAR

  • Build awareness of accountability at Youi by positively promoting an accountability culture.

About You

We’d love to hear from you if you tick most of these boxes:

  • Experience in a governance, company secretarial or executive support role providing high-level administrative and governance support to senior executives and/or Boards
  • Previous exposure or experience in a risk, compliance or governance related role or environment highly advantageous, combined with a strong understanding of risk frameworks (ideally within financial services or insurance)

  • You love a well-written report or document and pride yourself on your ability to present ideas, opportunities or issues to senior management and Boards that are outcome-focused

  • Demonstrated experience in successfully implementing significant projects and/or organisational change

  • Demonstrated ability to establish clearly defined objectives and priorities in order to plan for the achievement of regulatory or strategic requirements within required timelines.

  • You’re a confident professional, able to influence, communicate and collaborate to achieve solid business outcomes

  • A curious and analytical soul, with an eagle eye for detail

  • You’re highly organised, love to roll up your sleeves and navigate complex projects and competing deadlines

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, or a related discipline preferred
