What does the job look like?

The Operations Supervisor is a frontline leadership position that encompasses daily management of the PUD, handling and warehousing function within the Linfox Cairns Intermodal Terminal. The Operation Supervisor is responsible for the day to day transport operations within the depot Key areas:

Ensure all pickup and deliveries are executed to meet delivery windows and customer expectations.
Effectively maintain compliance of safe working practices through monitoring of compliance with safe work policies/procedures
Develop and maintain strong relations with key customer contacts ensuring the lines of communication are always open
Ensure the relevant vision and oversight of daily operational status is updated to reflect operations
Support the Branch Manager on all human resource, industrial relations, and safety and compliance performances for the operation
Ensure all paperwork is completed correctly by direct reports, including but not limited to runsheets, prestart checks and DRRs

Are you the one?

This is a pivotal role requiring a strong leader with a solid background within of the transport operations, allocating, route planning, safety, and customer service. You can demonstrate:

Previous experience with fleet and driver management in a large organisation
Experience in freight handling, specifically containerised freight
Working knowledge of relevant Australian Transport rules and regulations
The ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing demands
Strong leadership and management skills
Good geographical knowledge of the Cairns area
Diploma of Logistics or Business (desirable)
