About your opportunity

Covering an area of approximately 300,000 square kilometres and servicing many of the remote communities within North-Western Queensland and the Gulf of Carpentaria, the North West Hospital and Health Service (NWHHS) is responsible for the health promotion and wellbeing of people within the service area and ensuring that effective, high quality services are accessible to all.

Mount Isa Sexual Health offers primary and secondary prevention services including, but not limited to, diagnosis and management of sexually transmissible infections and blood borne viruses, contraception and pregnancy options, needle and syringe exchange program, health promotion and education regarding sexual health.

Good communication and interpersonal skills in client liaison, advocacy and teamwork.
Ability to exercise judgement in prioritising workload to ensure desired outcomes is met.
Ability to utilise computer programs.
Willingness to undertake self-directed learning relevant to the delivery of sexual health services.
Flexibility to adapt to workload/ workplace changes.

Hold Certificate III in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Island Primary Health Care.
Class C Motor Vehicle Licence is required.
Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Community.
Queensland Health to seek a 'working with children check' (Blue Card) prior to appointing to this position.
This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role and evidence of immunity / vaccinations will be required prior to commencement.

What's on offer?

Generous remuneration package value up to $76,298 p.a. comprising:

Base wage $58,500 - $61,500 p.a. (HW3)
Annual leave with 17.5% loading paid when taken
up to 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.
